From the President

Cary Choate

Some stories are written by a single author. The story of the Junior League of Tyler has never been one of them.

Since 1950, our story has been written by women who answered the call to serve, partners who invested in possibility, and a community that chose collaboration over complacency.

As we turn the page into our 76th chapter, I find myself humbled and in awe of the ripple effect that unfolds when people choose to link arms around a shared purpose. What began decades ago as a vision has become millions of dollars invested back into Smith County, and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours.

And perhaps what encourages me most isn’t what we’ve accomplished; it’s what remains possible.

This year, that possibility takes shape in a $460,708 investment back into our community, directly supporting 8 nonprofit community partners, 2 League-led initiatives, and the Community Assistance Fund that stands ready when unexpected needs arise amongst Smith County non-profit organizations.

Community impact has never rested on the shoulders of one organization. It Is cultivated by people who are willing to link arms, steward their gifts well, and believe that together we can leave our community better than we found it.

May I invite you to continue writing the next chapter of impact alongside us? I have every reason to believe that the legacy entrusted to us will continue to grow. Not because one generation accomplished more than another, but because each generation faithfully adds its own chapter to a story far greater than itself.

With joy and gratitude,

Cary Choate
