Dear Junior League of Tyler Sustainer,
What a year! Our greatest asset are most definitely the women of this beautiful organization and to say we all showed up for our community is, quite frankly, an understatement.
Hi! My name is Cary Choate, and I am honored beyond words can adequately express to serve as President of the Junior League of Tyler in 2026-2027.
As we turn the page from a truly meaningful milestone year, I want to begin with one simple but heartfelt message: thank you. Your continued connection to the Junior League of Tyler is part of what gives this organization its depth, its history, and its strength. Coming off our 75th Anniversary year, we’re energized by where we’ve been, what we have achieved, and the impact that still lies ahead.
This past year has been filled with many moments worth celebrating:
• 57 Provisional Member Class kicked off our 2026-27 League Year
• Record-setting success Community Partnerships
• JLT Care Closet care packages and totes of personal hygiene products are now available at 66 school campuses in Smith County
• Successfully transitioned from Digital Cheetah to Member Essentials to support our continued member growth
• Continued growth of the Legacy League
As we continue to look ahead, our cornerstone programs continue to thrive. Mistletoe & Magic will celebrate its 48th year, Girl Power its 17th, and Touch-A-Truck marks 11 years in action. Each of these projects are a testament to the consistency, creativity, and commitment that defines this League.
We’ve also discovered new ways to connect with our community, including the addition of Touch-A-Truck Bingo, and this September we’re ecstatic to host our first-ever Mistletoe & Magic Art Exhibit in the Plaza Tower, a free event open to the public, showcasing local artists and expanding the way we invite Tyler into our mission.
It’s also my pleasure to introduce Paige Engel, our Sustainer Relations Chair this year. Paige and I have served together in various capacities, and we’re both eager to find fresh, meaningful ways to connect with each of you. We’re also incredibly grateful to both Terri Smith and Andy Wells, who have graciously agreed to serve as Sustaining Advisors to the Board. Their innate wisdom and continued investment undoubtedly strengthens our work in ways that truly matter.
This letter and website is intended to do more than inform – it’s an invitation. An invitation to stay connected, to engage at whatever level fits your current season, and to continue shaping the legacy of a League that is still very much alive and evolving.
We’re grateful for your loyalty as we continue to write our next chapter of impact.
Sincerely,
Paige Engel
Sustainer Relations Chair
